Visiting from Weeki Wachee Springs, Florida, these underwater performers will delight both the young and the young at heart. Live mermaids will fascinate guests with a choreographed routine to musical numbers at the top of the hour from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily. This activity is included with admission to the Aquarium.
The fin-tastic activities don’t end there. Mermaids will also be available for photo opportunities, so be sure to get a unique souvenir by which to remember your Aquarium visit. Guests may also enjoy mermaid-themed activities and interactive education stations focused on conservation efforts to sustain the beauty of the ocean.

Awendaw Green and 105.5 The Bridge are bringing back the Charleston Bluegrass Festival on April 7th and 8th at Middleton Place Woodlands. The event will provide for two days and two nights of bluegrass music, food trucks, craft beer, family camping and Lowcountry fun. Friday’s musical performers are The Grass Is Dead, The Barefoot Movement, Fireside Collective, Southern Flavor Bluegrass, Southbound 17, and Steady Hand String Band. Saturday’s lineup includes Band of Ruhks, Forlorn Strangers, Dallas Baker and Friends, Flatt City, The Bushels, Triangle Bluegrass, Pinkerton and The Brinks, Violet Bell, Red Cedar Review, Daniel Patrick, The Black Iron Gathering, Cane Creek String Band, YeeHaw Junction, The Pluff Mud String Band, River Boy, and Sauratown. Gates open at noon Friday and the show goes from 5pm until midnight. Gates open at 10am on Saturday and the show goes from 12 noon -midnight.
The Charleston Bluegrass Festival has partnered with Middleton Place Woodlands, Aiken Bluegrass Festival, The Bee Cause Project and Adam Gorlitsky’s non-profit “I Got Legs”. It will be a family friendly Lowcountry music and camping event featuring two stages of regional and local bluegrass and almost bluegrass.There will be a limited number of RV hook ups, primitive camping, single day and two day tickets on an amazing 6000-acre site across from Middleton Place Gardens. There are beautiful lakes, forests and fields to enjoy. Coastal Expeditions will be on hand to demo kayaks and paddleboards.
Advance ticket prices are $15 for Friday, $25 for Saturday, $40 for a weekend pass, $200 for RV with electric, $175 for RV with no electric, $15 Campsite, $10 for a single ticket. Kids under 6 are free! Day of event tickets are $20 on Friday, $30 on Saturday, and $50 for a Weekend Pass. Join us Friday, April 7th, from 5:30 pm – 10:00 pm at MUSC Health Stadium for the Daniel Island Easter Extravaganza! Exciting news, this year the Daniel Island POA is partnering with MUSC Health Stadium to bring you even more egg-celent fun. The Easter Bunny, traditional egg hunt, jump castles, face painting, a photo booth, balloon artist followed by the movie HOP on the big screen under the stars will surely make for an exciting and fun filled family afternoon and evening.
The featured movie of the night will be “HOP” – From the creators of Despicable Me comes a comedy about candy, chicks and rock ‘n’ roll! He was destined to be the Easter Bunny, but all he wanted to do was rock! When teenage E.B. leaves for Hollywood in pursuit of his dream to become a rock star drummer, he meets Fred, an out-of-work slacker with his own lofty goals. Together the two encounter a series of hilarious mishaps and misadventures and in the end help each other recognize the importance of family.
You are asked to register for the event HERE so we can be sure to have enough eggs for all of the kids aged 10 and under. All registrations include movie, jump castles, face painting, balloon artist, green screen photo booth, craft station, Easter games, and a dozen filled eggs per child.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the event.
Wristbands will be given out at check in on Friday, April 7th from 5:00 pm to 5:45 pm at the Stadium only. The egg hunt starts at 6:00 pm sharp! Be sure each participant (ages 10 and under) brings their own basket for the hunt. (NO baskets will be provided for you). It is recommended you bring a blanket and/or chairs for the movie.
Cost: $5 per person entering MUSC Health Stadium (children under 5 are free).
